Staff skills include expertise in working with the ESRI Arc suite of products for GIS data creation, manipulation analysis and presentation. The Centre has a long experience in working with metadata, including its creation and maintenance, as well as a keen awareness of the ISO 19115/19139 standards and the INSPIRE directive.
Skills in the remote sensing domain include working with optical and SAR data for terrestrial and marine applications. Analysis of time-series remotely sensed data sets is a strength of the group. Software used included ERDAS Imagine, ENVI and SARSCAPE. A number of staff contribute to academic and professional teaching and training in GIS and remote sensing.
Please note that the Applied Remote Sensing and GIS Group was set up in 2011 and a more comprehensive list of completed RS & GIS related projects can be found in the Marine Geomatics completed projects list
